10 Years, 10 People, 10 Questions

With Ravi Ahluwalia, Account Manager

As InfoTrack celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we’re spotlighting the people who helped shape the journey. In this edition, we sat down with Ravi Ahluwalia, Account Manager, to ask him 10 questions about the last 10 years, what’s changed, what’s mattered, and what makes InfoTrack special.

1. Let’s rewind a bit. You started at InfoTrack as a barista Waterloo – what first drew you to the business, and what were those early days like?

I always knew I wanted to work in software, but at the time I didn’t have the experience to break into the industry directly. While I was working in coffee shops, I saw an opportunity to join InfoTrack as a barista in the Waterloo office. I thought it would be a great way to get exposure to a tech company, to see how it operated day to day and get a feel for the office environment.

2. From barista to Account Manager is quite the journey! What motivated you to take that leap from making coffee to managing client relationships?

I was really lucky to have people around me who believed in me, that’s one of the things I value most about InfoTrack. When the Account Manager role came up, a few of the managers who’d seen my potential encouraged me to go for it. They talked me through what the role involved, and I was keen to take on the challenge.

3. You’ve worked across very different parts of the business. How has that range of experience shaped how you support clients today?

Before moving into account management, I also worked in the Property Searches team. That hands-on experience gave me a solid understanding of our products, which really helps when supporting clients. It means I can explain things clearly and speak with confidence about what we do.

4. You described getting the Account Manager role as your career highlight so far. What did that moment mean to you?

Getting the Account Manager role was definitely a career highlight. Having people I looked up to see potential in me and back me for the role gave me a huge confidence boost.

5. Day to day, you're helping law firms get the most out of InfoTrack. What do you enjoy most about that part of your role?

Definitely the people. I’m lucky to work with friendly, supportive clients, and I really value building those relationships. Meeting a variety of people and staying connected is one of the best parts of the job.

6. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learnt since stepping into account management?

The biggest lesson I've learned is that people back people, building trust really matters. I’ve also come to appreciate just how busy and admin-heavy conveyancing is. That understanding motivates me, because I know we’re offering solutions that genuinely make a difference.

7. Culture comes up a lot at InfoTrack. You’ve said it’s something you could feel from day one – how would you describe it now, from the inside?

It’s exactly the same as it was on my first day. Everyone’s friendly and welcoming. Managers take the time to connect with everyone. It’s a big reason I enjoy coming into the office.

8. You’re known for building strong relationships – what’s your approach to creating trust and value with your clients?

I think we’re lucky that the software speaks for itself. Beyond that, I focus on being myself and letting my personality come through, because people can tell when you’re authentic.

9. You’ve already achieved a lot at InfoTrack. What’s next for you? Any goals you're working towards?

My focus at the moment is on keeping clients happy and supported. It’s about truly listening and continuously feeding insights back to the product team to help improve our existing offering and innovate.

10. And finally, if you could go back and give barista-Ravi one piece of advice, what would it be?

It would be simple: stay patient. Patience is key. Keep working hard and trust the process.
